THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  300 AM PST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA
 
   ...WESTERN SAN DIEGO COUNTY
 
AT 10PM...HEAVY RAIN WAS SPREADING THROUGH WESTERN SAN DIEGO COUNTY.
DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED THE HEAVIEST RAINS EXTENDING FROM FALLBROOK TO
CARLSBAD TO JUST WEST OF LA JOLLA TO 50 MILES SOUTHWEST OF SAN DIEGO.
HOWEVER...MOST OTHER AREAS WERE RECEIVING MODERATE HEAVY RAIN. THIS
HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD OVER WESTERN SAN DIEGO COUNTY AND
PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING THROUGH 3AM.
 
LOCAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO ONE INCH PER HOUR WILL OCCUR WITH
WIDESPREAD AREAS EXPECTED TO RECEIVE GREATER THAN 1/2 INCH PER HOUR.
 
FLOODING WAS ALREADY OCCURRING ALONG THE SANTA MARGARITA RIVER WHERE
IT WAS FLOWING OVER SANDIA CREEK ROAD IN FALLBROOK IN EXTREME
NORTHERN SAN DIEGO COUNTY. AREAS FURTHER DOWNSTREAM INCLUDE CAMP
PENDLETON.
 
IF FLASH FLOODING OCCURS...SEEK HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. MOTORISTS
SHOULD NOT DRIVE ON ROADS COVERED WITH WATER.j
