THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WESTERN SHANNON COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI
  EASTERN TEXAS COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI

* UNTIL 900 AM CDT

* AT 338 AM...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS INDICATING BANDS OF
  HEAVY RAIN LOCATED FROM NEAR SUMMERSVILLE TO 15 MILES NORTHWEST OF
  EMINENCE WHICH WERE MOVING SLOWLY TO THE NORTHEAST.  DOPPLER RADAR
  WAS ESTIMATING ONE TO ONE AND A HALF INCHES WITHIN THE PAST HOUR
  WITH THIS BAND OF PRECIPITATION WITH TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF THREE
  TO FOUR INCHES OVER THE PAST SEVERAL HOURS.

* MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN LOOKS TO CONTINUE OVER THIS SAME AREA
  THROUGH 6 AM WITH RUNOFF FLOODING CONTINUING THROUGH 9 AM.  AN
  ADDITIONAL ONE TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THIS
  AREA THROUGH 6 AM.


BECAUSE OF THE HILLY TERRAIN ACROSS THE OZARKS...THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF
LOW WATER CROSSINGS WHICH ARE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IN HEAVY RAIN.  DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS FLOODED ROADS.  FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES.

BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL ABOUT TRAVELLING AT NIGHT.  IT IS OFTEN
DIFFICULT TO SEE FLOODED LOW WATER CROSSINGS ESPECIALLY DURING HEAVY
RAIN AND FOG.  DON'T RISK YOUR LIFE...TURN AROUND AND SEEK AN ALTERNATE
ROUTE IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED.
