THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY NJ HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1200 PM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN DELAWARE

   ...NEW CASTLE COUNTY...CHRISTINA RIVER

AT 530 AM THE STAGE OF THE CHRISTINA RIVER AT COOCHS BRIDGE WAS 8.3
FEET AND RISING.  FLOOD STAGE AT COOCHS BRIDGE IS 9 FT. A CREST OF
BETWEEN 10 AND 11 FEET IS EXPECTED AT COOCHS BRIDGE LATER THIS
THURSDAY MORNING.

HEAVY RAIN OVER NORTHERN DELAWARE OVERNIGHT IS PRODUCING RAPID
RISES ALONG STREAMS IN THIS AREA. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER
RADAR INDICATES THAT RAIN WILL CONTINUE OVER NORTHERN DELAWARE
FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. AS A RESULT...THE CHRISTINA RIVER
IS EXPECTED TO RISE ABOVE ITS 9 FOOT FLOOD STAGE AROUND 600 AM AND
CREST BEFORE NOON.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
