000 TTAA00 KBNA 081917 RRA TORBNA TNC007-175-082000- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN 217 PM CDT WED APR 8 1998 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 300 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHEAST TENNESSEE ...BLEDSOE COUNTY...EASTERN VAN BUREN COUNTY AT 217 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A TORNADO ABOUT 15 MILES WEST OF PIKEVILLE. THE TORNADO WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH...AND WILL REACH THE FALL CREEK FALLS STATE PARK AREA BY 240 PM AND PIKEVILLE BY 250 PM. YOU SHOULD TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WOrRKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE.
