THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MELBOURNE FL HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL NOON EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA

   ...BREVARD COUNTY
 
AT 1055 AM...WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF STRONG TO SEVERE
STORMS FROM TITUSVILLE TO COCOA TO WEST OF GRANT. THE STORMS WILL
SPREAD RAPIDLY NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH ACROSS THE COASTLINE AND BARRIER
ISLANDS INTO THE COASTAL WATERS. A FUNNEL CLOUD WAS REPORTED IN
COCOA NEAR US 1 AND 520 AT 1045 AM...AND WINDS WERE ESTIMATED TO 50
MPH IN SHARPES AT 1055.
 
A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES
WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE READY TO GO
TO A SAFE PLACE IF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MOrVE TOWARD YOUR AREA,
ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIVE IN A MOBILE HOME.
