THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN INDIANAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN OWEN COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL INDIANA

* UNTIL 845 AM EST

* AT 1240 AM EST... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  A THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN FROM LEBANON TO BLOOMINGTON...
  MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH.

* RECORD FLOODING WILL OCCUR OVER PARTS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN OWEN
  COUNTY FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE NIGHT DUE TO MEASURED RAINFALL IN
  EXCESS OF 9 INCHES IN A 10 MILE DIAMETER AREA CENTERED FIVE MILES
  SOUTHWEST OF SPENCER...OR 15 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF BLOOMINGTON.
  NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES AS MUCH AS 11.3
  INCHES FELL IN THE AREA BETWEEN 7 PM AND 1230 AM EST.

  THIS EXCESSIVE DELUGE WILL CAUSE RECORD FLOODING DURING THE
  REMAINDER OF THE NIGHT ALONG RATTLESNAKE CREEK IN SOUTHERN OWEN
  COUNTY WEST OF SPENCER.  ALSO...RECORD FLODING MAY OCCUR ON FISH
  CREEK FROM PATRICKSBURG AND VANDALIA SOUTH THROUGH ARNEY AND
  FREEDOM TO THE GREEN COUNTY LINE.

  RACCOON CREEK IN SOUTHEAST OWEN COUNTY FROM NORTH OF WHITHALL TO
  NEW HOPE MAY ALSO EXPERIENCE UNUSUALLY HIGH WATER FOR THE REMAINDER
  OF THE NIGHT.  PEOPLE LIVING IN THESE AREAS CAN EXPECT TO SEE
  WATER FLOWING WHERE THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN IT FLOW BEFORE.

  WHILE THE WORST OF THE RAINFALL IS PROBABLY OVER ADDITIONAL RAIN
  DURING THE NIGHT MAY ACCUMULATE TO ANOTHER ONE INCH OR SO.

  BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
  DANGER OF FLOODING. HIGHWAYS SOUTH AND EAST OF SPENCER ARE CLOSED
  DUE TO HIGH WATER.  THIS FLOOD WARNING REPLACES THE FLASH FLOOD
  WARNING THAT EXPIRED AT 1245 AM EST.
