317 PM MDT (417 PM CDT) TUE AUG 4 1998

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GOODLAND HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING
FOR THE NORTH FORK OF SAPPA CREEK WEST OF OBERLIN TO THE
RAWLINS COUNTY LINE EFFECTIVE UNTIL 4 AM CDT WEDNESDAY MORNING.

OFFICIALS FROM THE DECATUR COUNTY ROAD DEPARTMENT HAVE
REPORTED WIDESPREAD MINOR FLOODING ALONG THE NORTH FORK OF THE
SAPPA CREEK.  THIS DELAYED FLOODING LIKELY HAS RESULTED FROM HEAVY
RAINFALL RUNOFF SATURDAY NIGHT ACROSS NORTHERN SHERMAN COUNTY.

THE OFFICIALS REPORTED THAT THE CREST OF THE FLOODING APPEARED TO BE
JUST WEST OF THE CONFLUENCE OF THE NORTH AND SOUTH FORKS< OF SAPPA
CREEK. FLOODING CURRENTLY EXTENDED WEST TO THE RAWLINS COUNTY LINE.

IF YOU ARE IN WESTERN DECATUR COUNTY...EXERCISE CAUTION WHILE
TRAVELING NEAR THE NORTH FORK OF SAPPA CREEK THROUGH TONIGHT.
