THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  FAYETTE COUNTY IN TEXAS
  LAVACA COUNTY IN TEXAS
  DEWITT COUNTY IN TEXAS

* UNTIL 400 AM CST

* AT 1130 PM CST... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR
  INDICATED AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUING OVER
  FAYETTE...LAVACA AND DEWITT COUNTIES.

* SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...SOME WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN...WILL
  CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS FAYETTE...LAVACA
  AND DEWITT COUNTIES THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS FRIDAY.
  RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR WILL ACCOMPANY THESE
  STORMS.  SOME ROADWAYS HAVE ALREADY BEEN CLOSED IN A FEW
  LOCATIONS. LOW WATER CROSSINGS WILL FILL QUICKLY AND WILL
  BECOME IMPASSIBLE.!

REMEMBER THAT MOST FLOODING DEATHS OCCUR WHEN DRIVERS ATTEMPT TO
CROSS AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY!

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...
ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT
AT NIGHT TO TELL HOW MUCH WATER IS ON ROADS. MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT
DRIVE THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.
