THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  PROVIDENCE COUNTY IN NORTHERN RHODE ISLAND

* UNTIL 800 AM EDT WEDNESDAY MORNING

* AT 815 PM...THE WOONASQUATUCKET RIVER IN SMITHFIELD WAS OUT OF
  ITS BANKS AND STILL RISING.  THIS WAS IN RESPONSE TO THE 3 TO 5
  INCH RAINS OVER NORTHERN RHODE ISLAND SINCE EARLY THIS MORNING.

* OTHER SMALL STREAMS IN THE COUNTY WHICH TYPICALLY TAKE LONGER
  TO RESPOND MAY SPILL OUT OF THE BANKS LATER TONIGHT.  ADDITIONAL
  SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE INTO RHODE ISLAND BY 9 PM
  WITH THE POTENTIAL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES OF ADDITIONAL RAIN TONIGHT.
  THIS ADDITIONAL RAINFALL COULD AGGRAVATE THE FLOODING PROBLEMS.

ANYONE LIVING ALONG THE RIVER THAT IS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD 
TAKE ACTION IMMEDIATELY TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY.
