* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ESSEX COUNTY IN NORTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS
  KENT COUNTY IN CENTRAL RHODE ISLAND

* UNTIL 105 AM EDT SUNDAY

  THIS WARNING JOINS THE EARLIER WARNINGS ISSUED FOR EASTERN NEW
  ENGLAND WITH A LARGE SWATH OF FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS IN EFFECT
  UNTIL 105 AM SUNDAY FROM PLAINFIELD AND PUTNAM CONNECTICUT INTO
  THE WARWICK...PROVIDENCE...BOSTON...IPSWICH CORRIDOR WESTWARD TO
  NEAR WORCESTER AND PEPPERELL.

* PERIODS OF TORRENTIAL RAIN WILL CONTINUE INTO THIS EVENING.

  NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED BANDS OF HEAVY
  RAIN SHOWERS PERSISTING OR MOVING MOVING SLOWLY NORTHEAST.

* SMALL STREAMS WILL RISE RAPIDLY OVER THEIR BANKS AND THEIR WILL BE
  CONSIDERABLE POOR DRAINAGE FLOODING RESULTING IN CLOSED ROADS AND
  FLOODED BASEMENTS.

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES OR ROADS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  IT ONLY
TAKES A FOOT OR TWO OF FLOWING WATER TO WASH MOST CARS AWAY.
