THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTH CENTRAL HAMPDEN COUNTY IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS

* UNTIL 1140 PM EDT

* AT 835 PM... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
  THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN NEAR LONGMEADOW...MOVING SLOWLY
  NORTH-NORTHWEST .

* LONGMEADOW...EAST LONGMEADOW AND PARTS OF THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD
  ARE THE PRINCIPLE LOCATIONS TO BE AFFECTED.

* THE PECOUSIC RIVER AND THE WATCH HOG BROOK NEAR EAST
  LONGMEADOW ASRE REPORTED TO BE FLOODING NEARBY STREETS AND
  BASEMENTS. DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES AS MUCH AS 2 INCHES OF RAIN
  TO HAVE FALLEN IN AN HOURS TIME NEAR EAST LONGMEADOW. THE
  STORM WILL AFFECT THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN
  TIL ABOUT 930 PM WHILE THE RAIN LETS UP IN LONGMEADOWN BY 9 PM.

`BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODS.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOODED ROADWAY.
THE ROAD COULD BE DAMAGED OR WASHED OUT.
