THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  LITCHFIELD COUNTY IN NORTHWESTERN CONNECTICUT
  DUTCHESS COUNTY IN SOUTHEASTERN NEW YORK

* UNTIL 1120 PM EDT

* AT 8 PM EDT... SPOTTERS INDICATED A THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY
  HEAVY RAIN IN THE EASTERN AND CENTRAL PART OF
  LITCHFIELD COUNTY...RADAR INDICATED THAT IT WAS MOVING
  EAST AROUND 25 MILES AN HOUR.

* THE THUNDERSTORM WAS BRINGING ONE TO TWO AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN
  IN A LITTLE OVER AN HOUR. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL OCCUR ACROSS
  DUTCHESS AND LITCHFIELD COUNTIES AFTER THE THUNDERSTORM PASSES.
  THE AREA FROM HOPEWELL JUNCTION NEW YORK TO NORTHFIELD CONNECTICUT
  HAD THE HEAVIEST BAND OF RAIN.

  TWO AND A QUARTER INCHES OF RAIN FELL AROUND STORMVILLE ACCORDING
  TO A SKYWARN WEATHER SPOTTER.

  DON'T DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD!

  AREA RESIDENTS SHOULD MONITOR FLOOD CONDITIONS... AND BE PREPARED
  TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND... SHOULD FLOOD WATERS THREATEN. IF FLASH
  FLOODING IS OBSERVED... ACT QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO
  ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN
  WATER BEGINS RISING.
