THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS NV HAS ISSUED A SEVERE
THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 830 PM PDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN CENTRAL NEVADA

  ...EXTREME NORTHWESTERN NYE COUNTY

THIS WARNING REPLACES THE SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY ISSUED
EARLIER.

AT 710 PM PDT...DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WITH
VERY HEAVY RAIN AND LARGE HAIL OVER THE IONE VALLEY ABOUT 16
MILES SOUTHEAST OF GABBS.  RAINFALL ESTIMATES FROM DOPPLER RADAR
INDICATE OVER AN INCH OF RAIN HAS FALLEN SINCE 600 PM ALONG THE
IONE WASH.  THE TONOPAH COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE REPORTS PARTS OF
ROUTE 844 HAVE BEEN WASHED OUT.  THE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING
SLOWLY EAST-NORTHEAST AT 15 MILES AN HOUR.

MODERATE TO SEVERE FLASH FLOODING IS LIKELY IN THE IONE VALLEY
ALONG AND NEAR IONE WASH.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 57 MPH
...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  DO NOT TRY TO OUTRACE A FLASH FLOOD. MOVE TO HIGHER
GROUND.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THROUGH RISING WATER.
