000 TTAA00 KTUL 160024 FFWTUL OKC097-131-145-160230- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TULSA OK 722 PM CDT TUE JUL 15 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TULSA HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 930 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA ...SOUTHERN MAYES COUNTY...SOUTHERN ROGERS COUNTY ...NORTHERN WAGONER COUNTY AT 720 PM...RADAR INDICATED THAT BETWEEN 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN IN THE PAST HOUR ALONG THE ROGERS AND WAGONER COUNTY BORDER AND THE MAYES AND WAGONER COUNTY BORDER. THIS INCLUDES THE AREAS AROUND INOLA AND MAZIE. THE STORMS WHICH HAVE PRODUCED THIS HEAVY RAIN HAVE MOVED LITTLE AND ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING 1 TO 2 MORE INCHES OF RAIN. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS LIKELY OR HAS BEEN REPORTED. STAY ALERT AND WATCH FOR RAPIDLY RISING WATER. REMEMBER...IT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO THE NEAREST STREAM...CREEK OR RIVER WHICH CAN BECOME A KILLER DURING PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.
