000 TTAA00 KSGF 210316 FFWSGF MOC009-011-097-119-145-210715- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPRINGFIELD MO 914 PM CST THU FEB 20 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 115 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI ...BARRY COUNTY...BARTON COUNTY...JASPER COUNTY ...MCDONALD COUNTY...NEWTON COUNTY AT 913 PM CST RADAR IN SPRINGFIELD INDICATED A LARGE AREA OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL OVER EXTREME NORTHWEST ARKANSAS AND SOUTHWEST MISSOURI. THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTH NORTHEAST AT NEAR 40 MPH AND WILL PRODUCE ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN THROUGH MIDNIGHT. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO THE ONE INCH OF RAIN THAT FELL THIS MORNING. BE AWARE THAT LOW WATER CROSSINGS WILL LIKELY BECOME COVERED BY WATER IN THE WARNED AREA. DO NOT DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING. MS/GH
