FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1100 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN SOUTHCENTRAL VIRGINIA

IN SOUTHCENTRAL VIRGINIA THE INDEPENDENT CITY OF

AT 510 AM DANVILLE OFFICIALS REPORTED FALL CREEK OVERFLOWING ITS
BANKS ABOUT A QUARTER TO A HALF MILE NORTH OF WHERE IT FEEDS
INTO THE DAN RIVER.  WHILE THE RAIN HAS TAPERED OFF TO SCATTERED
LIGHT SHOWERS...THE DAN RIVER CONTINUES TO RISE IN RESPONSE TO THE
HEAVY RAIN OF EARLIER...AND IS IN TURN BACKING UP FALL CREEK.  THIS
WILL CONTINUE RESULTING IN MORE WIDESPREAD FLOODING OF FALL CREEK
IN THE AREA FROM THE DAN RIVER NORTHWARD ALONG THE CREEK.
 
RESIDENTS SHOULD USE CAUTION WHILE TRAVELING THIS MORNING...AS SOME
SECONDARY ROADS AND LOW-LYING AREAS MAY BE COVERED BY FLOODWATERS.
