THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PENDLETON HAS ISSUED A
SMALL STREAM FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  230 AM PST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON
 
   ...WALLA WALLA COUNTY...INCLUDING THE TOUCHET RIVER
 
THIS WARNING EXPANDS THE ORIGINAL WARNING AREA TO INCLUDE ALL OF WALLA
WALLA COUNTY.
 
AT 2 PM...OFFICIALS IN WAITSBURG REPORTED THAT THE TOUCHET RIVER WAS
CONTINUING TO RISE. IN ADDITION...COPPEI CREEK HAD RISEN TO WITHIN ONE
FOOT OF A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. EAST OF WAITSBURG ON U.S. 12 THE TOUCHET
RIVER WAS OVER ITS BANKS AT LEWIS AND CLARK STATE PARK.
 
THE RISING WATERS OF THE TOUCHET RIVER WILL AGGRAVATE FLOODING PROBLEMS
IN THE WAITSBURG AND PRESCOTT AREAS THROUGH THIS EVENING AND WILL AFFECT
THE TOUCHET AREA LATER TONIGHT.  IF YOU LIVE IN A FLOOD PRONE
AREA...BE PREPARED FOR FLOOHDING AND TAKE THE APPROPRIATE ACTION.  DO NOT
DRIVE THROUGH ANY AREA WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
