THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 630 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA
 
   ...MOBILE COUNTY
 
AT 225 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED PERSISTENT SLOW
MOVING THUNDERSTORMS OVER A LARGE PART OF MOBILE COUNTY. STORMS WITH
THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL WERE OCCURRING FROM NEAR CHUNCHULA SOUTHWARD TO NE
THEODORE AND BETWEEN SARALAND AND SEMMES. THESE STORMS WERE DRIFTING
SOUTHEAST AT LESS THAN 5 MPH. SOME STREET FLOODING IS LIKELY TO OCCUR IN
THE MOBILE AREA AS THESE STORMS CONTINUE ACROSS THE SAME AREAS THROUGH
THE LATE AFTERNOON HOURS. MOBILE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES LOCALLY OVER 3
INCHES OF RAINFALL PER HOUR IS OCCURRING WITH SOME OF THE STRONGER
STORMS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
