THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO AND SPECIAL MARINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  200 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA
 
   ...EAST CENTRAL DADE COUNTY
 
AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS
 
 
OBSERVERS AT THE MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HAVE OBSERVED FUNNEL CLOUDS
OR POSSIBLE TORNADOS BOTH SOUTHWEST OF THE AIRPORT AND 7 MILES TOWARDS
THE SOUTHEAST NEAR BRICKEL POINT. DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AT 100 PM
THERE WERE TWO THUNDERSTORMS WITH MID LEVEL CIRCULATIONS LOCATED A FEW
MILES EAST OF DOWNTOWN MIAMI OVER THE COASTAL WATERS. THE RADAR ALSO
SHOWED A LINE OF DEVELOPING THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING OVER LAND SOUTH OF
THE MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. IT APPEARS THAT THESE THUNDERSTORMS
COULD PRODUCE FUNNEL CLOUDS AND POSSIBLY BOTH WATERSPOUTS AND OR
TORNADOS. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 20 MILES PER HOUR.
 
 
IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS UNDER
STURDY FURNITURE IN AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. USE
PILLOWS TO PROTECT YOUR HEAD. AVOID WINDOWS. A MOBILE HOME IS NOT A
SAFE REFUGE FROM A TORNADO. MOVE TO A MORE SUBSTANTIAL BUILDING. DO
NOT TRY TO OUTRUN A TORNADO IN YOUR VECHICLE.
