FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  600 AM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA
 
   ...EASTERN BROWARD COUNTY...SOUTHEASTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY
 
A FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR EASTERN BROWARD AND SOUTHEAST
PALM BEACH COUNTIES UNTIL 6 AM EST TUESDAY.
 
A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING AND
THAT THE PUBLIC SHOULD BE AWARE OF THESE CONDITIONS SO PREPARATIONS
CAN BE MADE FOR THE SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF PROPERTY. LOCAL OFFICIALS
NEED TO BE AWARE THAT WARNINGS ARE NOW IN EFFECT AND MAY HAVE TO BE
UPGRADED SHOULD MORE SERIOUS CONDITIONS WARRANT.
 
RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE REACHING OR EXCEEDING 3 TO 5 INCHES OVER A RATHER
WIDE AREA OF COASTAL BROWARD AND SOUTHEAST COASTAL PALM BEACH DURING
THE LAST 3 HOURS.  THE CONTINUED THREAT OF ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINS
REQUIRES THAT THE URBAN FLOOD ADVISORY BE UPGRADED TO A FLOOD WARNING
IN THOSE AREAS TO BE VALID FOR THE REMAINDER OF TONIGHT.
 
THROUGH THE REST OF TONIGHT ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES
ARE POSSIBLE.
 
PERSONS IN THE FLOOD WARNING AREA ARE ADVISED TO USE CAUTION WHILE
TRAVELING AND REMAIN ALERT TO ADDITIONAL STATEMENTS OR WARNINGS THAT
MAY BE REQUIRED.
 
STREET FLOODING WILL BE A PROBLEM IN THOSE AREAS THAT RECEIVE HEAVY
RAINS.  IF YOU ARE DRIVING...REDUCE YOUR SPEED IN AREAS OF RESTRICTED
VISIBILITIES AND AVOID PONDING WATER IN STREETS...UNDERPASSES AND OTH
LOW LYING AREAS WHERE DRAINAGE IS POOR. DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO PLAY
IN FLOOD WATERS...THEY MAY BE CONTAMINATED.
 
URBAN FLOODING IS OCCURRING IN THE FLOOD PRONE AREAS AND PEOPLE
SHOULD NOT DRIVE ACROSS RISING WATER ON STREETS AND UNDERPASSES.
