000 TTAA00 KMAF 160645 FFWMAF TXC443-161000- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND TX 144 AM CDT MON JUN 16 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIDLAND TX HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 500 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN WESTERN TEXAS ...TERRELL COUNTY DOPPLER RADAR HAD ESTIMATED THAT AT LEAST AN INCH OF RAIN HAD FALLEN ACROSS A BROAD AREA JUST NORTH OF SANDERSON FROM PREVIOUS THUNDERSTORMS SINCE 10 PM CDT. WITH ANOTHER WAVE OF THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING TERRELL COUNTY FROM THE SOUTHWEST...ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL MAKE FLOODING LIKELY. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.
