THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LUBBOCK TX HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 800 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN NORTHWESTERN TEXAS

   ...HOCKLEY COUNTY
   ...LUBBOCK COUNTY
 
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER PORTIONS OF HOCKLEY AND
LUBBOCK COUNTIES ARE PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL.  MANY OF THESE
THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING SLOWLY EASTWARD...AND OVER THE SAME AREAS.
RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES SHOWED OVER TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL OVER
PORTIONS OF LUBBOCK COUNTY SINCE 350 PM.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL ALSO CAUSE MORE FLOODING OF ROADS AND
LOW-LYING AREAS.  AN ADDITONAL TWO INCHES OF RAIN IS LIKELY MAINLY
OVER THE SOUTHERN HALF OF HOCKLEY AND LUBBOCK COUNTIES...INCLUDING
THE CITY OF LUBBOCK.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
