AT 220 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL RATES OF 3 TO 4 INCHES PER
HOUR FALLING ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL PLAQUEMINES PARISH NEAR THE
MISSISSIPPI RIVER AND RIVER HIGHWAYS JUST NORTHWEST OF POINTE A LA
HACHE. SERIOUS FLOODING OF HIGHWAYS 39 AND 23 ARE LIKELY WITH THESE
STORMS THROUGH 400 PM. THUNDERSTORMS SHOWED LITTLE MOVEMENT.
 
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
