THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON NC HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING FOR LOW LAND AND URBAN FLOODING EFFECTIVE
UNTIL 900 AM EDT

FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN SOUTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA

   ...NORTHERN NEW HANOVER COUNTY
   ...PENDER COUNTY
 
AT 735 AM EDT... TORRENTIAL RAINS WERE FALLING ACROSS NORTHERN NEW
HANOVER COUNTY AND ALL OF PENDER COUNTY. AT THE NEW HANOVER COUNTY
AIRPORT... RAINFALL HAS EXCEEDED 2.50 INCHES. LOCAL STREAMS AND
DITCHES WILL RISE THROUGH 9 AM... CAUSING SOME LOW LAND FLOODING.
LOW SPOTS ON AREA ROADS WILL ALSO ACCUMULATE STANDING WATER...
CAUSING SOME TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES THROUGH MID MORNING.

THE HEAVY RAIN WILL MOVE NORTH AND OUT OF NORTHERN NEW HANOVER
COUNTY BY 815.  THE RAIN WILL END ACROSS PENDER COUNTY AROUND 9 AM.

UNTIL THE RAIN HAS ENDED AND STANDING WATER HAS A CHANCE TO
DRAIN... PEOPLE ACROSS THE WARNED AREA SHOULD BE ALERT FOR SOME
MINOR FLOODING PROBLEMS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.
