THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON NC HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 PM EDT
 FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN SOUTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA

   ...NORTHERN NEW HANOVER COUNTY
   ...SOUTHERN PENDER COUNTY
 
AT 815 PM...RADAR SHOWED A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM
SCOTTS HILL TO RIEGELWOOD.  RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES AN
HOUR ARE STILL OCCURRING OVER EASTERN COLUMBUS COUNTY.  THESE
THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE OVER NORTHERN NEW HANOVER AND
SOUTHERN PENDER COUNTIES OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR SO.

THERE HAVE BEEN MANY REPORTS OF HEAVY RAIN.  THE PUBLIC REPORTED
8.1 INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN BETWEEN 330 PM AND 810 PM IN THE
SCOTTS HILL AREA ALONG THE NEW HANOVER AND PENDER COUNTY LINE.
THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN REPORTS OF WATER IN SEVERAL HOMES IN THIS
AREA.

ANY ADDITIONAL RAIN FALL THIS EVENING WILL ONLY WORSEN THE
CONDITIONS. THEREFORE THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN EXTENDED
UNTIL 1000 PM.

 DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTHV MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
