FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 550 AM MST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN CENTRAL ARIZONA

   ...SOUTHWESTERN...AND CENTRAL YAVAPAI COUNTY
 
AT 245 AM MST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS
INDICATING HEAVY RAIN OVER SOUTHWESTERN YAVAPAI COUNTY.  A BAND OF
HEAVY RAIN EXTENDED FROM SOUTH OF CONGRESS...NORTHWARD TO
PRESCOTT. AUTOMATED RAIN GAGES FROM SOUTHWESTERN COCONINO
COUNTY...AND CENTRAL YAVAPAI COUNTY NEAR THUMB BUTTE TANKS
WHERE REPORTING GREATER THAN ONE INCH OF RAIN PER HOUR. THIS
PRECIPITATION WAS MOVING OVER AREAS THAT HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED
HEAVY RAIN FALL YESTERDAY.

MOTORISTS ALONG HIGHWAY 89 SOUTH OF PRESCOTT...HIGHWAY 93 AND
HIGHWAY 71 SHOULD USE EXTREME CAUTION WHILE DRIVING TONIGHT.

DO NOT DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADS! MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS
OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.
 
IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK HIGHER
GROUND. RAPIDLY RISING WATER MAY ENGULF THE VEHICLE AND SWEEP IT
