THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EASTERN ND/GRAND FORKS HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  630 PM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA

   ...WILKIN COUNTY


IN SOUTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA

   ...RICHLAND COUNTY

AT 320 PM CST...DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE AN AREA OF ENHANCED
PRECIPITATION MOVING NORTH AT 25 MPH ACROSS RICHLAND AND WILKIN
COUNTIES. TOTAL PRECIPITATION SO FAR TODAY HAS BEEN OVER 1 INCH WITH
ANOTHER 1/2 INCH OF RAINFALL EXPECTED BY 6 PM AND ADDITIONAL RAINFALL
INTO THE EVENING.

THE CITIES OF WAHPETON AND BRECKENRIDGE ARE EXPERIENCING FLOODING DUE TO
THIS RAINFALL.  AS OF THIS TIME...NO BREACHES OF DIKES HAVE BEEN
REPORTED ALONG THE RIVERS.  A SEVEN BLOCK AREA OF WAPHETON IS CURRENTLY
UNDER WATER WITH NUMEROUS ROADS REPORTED UNDER WATER IN BOTH WAHPETON
AND BRECKENRIDGE.

CITY OFFICIALS URGE ALL RESIDENTS OF WAHPETON AND BRECKENRIDGE
TO STOP WATER USAGE AND TO PLUG THEIR SEWER DRAINS.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
