THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  545 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...BASTROP COUNTY...CALDWELL COUNTY...GUADALUPE COUNTY
 
AT 1245 AM CDT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED STORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN
EXTENDING FROM SOUTHWEST OF BELMONT TO LULING AND SMITHVILLE. THESE
STORMS ARE PRODUCING RAINFALL RATES OF ONE TO TWO INCHES AN HOUR. A COLD
FRONT APPROACHING FROM THE WEST WILL BRING MORE STORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN
BY 4 AM CREATING MORE WIDESPREAD FLOODING PROBLEMS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED
ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
FLOOD PRONE URBAN AREAS FILL WITH WATER QUICKLY.  CLOGGED STORM
DRAINS MAY CAUSE OTHER AREAS TO FLOOD.  DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH
FLOOD WATERS AND STAY AWAY FROM STORM DRAINS.
