THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1100 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...LAVACA COUNTY
 
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDICATED A BAND OF HEAVY RAIN MOVING
NORTH AT 25 MPH ACROSS LAVACA COUNTY. LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT HAS REPORTED
FARM ROAD 680 CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER. HEAVIER RAIN SHOWERS HAD
RAINFALL RATES NEAR ONE AND A HALF INCHES PER HOUR.
 
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS THIS EVENING AS IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODS AT NIGHT.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED
ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS.  TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS FLOODED ROADS.  IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE
IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY.
