THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  115 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...EDWARDS COUNTY
 
AT 1010 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT THUNDERSTORMS WERE
DEVELOPING ACROSS EDWARDS COUNTY. THESE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM
JUNCTION TO NEAR ROCKSPRINGS AND THEN WEST ALONG HWY 39. RAINFALL RATES
WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE BETWEEN ONE TO TWO INCHES AN HOUR. MANY
ROADS REMAIN CLOSED ACROSS THE COUNTY AND IN ROCKSPRINGS. THESE
THUNDERSTORMS WILL ONLY ADD TO THE ONGOING FLOODING PROBLEMS.
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ACROSS THE COUNTY FOR THE NEXT
FEW HOURS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED
ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS.  TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS FLOODED ROADS.  IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE
IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY.
