000 TTAA00 KDDC 250133 FFWDDC KSC051-195-250530- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 832 PM CDT TUE JUN 24 1997 * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR ELLIS COUNTY IN CENTRAL KANSAS TREGO COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL KANSAS * UNTIL 1230 AM CDT * SOME STREAMS AFFECTED BIG CREEK * CAUSE AND EFFECT INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS THIS EVENING HAVE PRODUCED WIDESPREAD RAINFALL IN EXCESS OF 2.5 INCHES WITH LOCAL TOTALS IN EXCESS OF 4 INCHES FROM 3 MILES NORTH OF TREGO CENTER TO NEAR RIGA TO 4 MILES NORTH OF YOCEMENTO. RAPID RISES ON BIG CREEK CAN BE EXPECTED. DON'T DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADS! MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. REMEMBER THAT WATER ONLY 18 TO 24 INCHES DEEP IS SUFFICIENT TO WASH MOST VEHICLES FROM ROADWAYS. 01
