000 TTAA00 KIND 200022 TORIND INC059-145-200115- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN 720 PM EST FRI APR 19 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN INDIANAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 815 PM EST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN CENTRAL INDIANA ...HANCOCK COUNTY...NORTHERN SHELBY COUNTY AT 720 PM EST...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO 10 MILES SOUTH OF DOWNTOWN INDIANAPOLIS NEAR GREENWOOD. THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH. THERE HAVE BEEN FUNNEL CLOUD SIGHTINGS IN GREENWOOD NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF SMITH VALLEY AND HIGHWAY 37. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF BASEBALL SIZE HAIL WITH THIS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE.
