FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1245 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA
 
   ...DE KALB COUNTY...FULTON COUNTY
 
AT 1035 PM WEATHER RADAR AND GUAGE READINGS INDICATED THAT 2-4 INCHES OF
RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER THE PEACHTREE CREEK...NANCY CREEK...AND PROCTOR
CREEK BASINS. THIS HAS RESULTED IN THE RAPID RISE OF PEACHTREE CREEK.
PEACHTREE CREEK IS EXPECTED TO CREST BETWEEEN 17 AND 18 FEET BETWEEN
1100 PM AND 1200 AM. NANCY AND PROCTOR CREEKS MAY ALSO REACH FLOOD STAGE
DURING THIS SAME TIME.
 
FLOODING OF OTHER SMALL CREEKS AND LOW LYING AREAS IS ALSO LIKELY IN
THESE DRAINAGE BASINS AND OUT IN THE COUNTIES.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASHd FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
