000 TTAA00 KDDC 070813 SVRDDC KSC051-070845- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 312 AM CDT TUE MAY 7 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 345 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN CENTRAL KANSAS ...ELLIS COUNTY AT 310 AM DODGE CITY DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED TWO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS...THE FIRST ONE WAS 5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF HAYS NEAR TOULON AND THE OTHER WAS ON THE TREGO AND ELLIS COUNTY LINE 15 MILES WEST OF HAYS. BOTH STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH. THE FIRST SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL MOVE OVER OPEN FARMLAND SOUTHEAST OF HAYS THROUGH 345 AM AND THE OTHER SEVERE STORM WILL MOVE THROUGH ELLIS BY 320 AM. EXPECT HAIL UP TO ONE INCH IN DIAMETER AND VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...ANDB DEADLY LIGHTNING.
