FOR URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 PM EDT FOR
PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN WESTERN NEW YORK

   ...CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY
 
BUFFALO RADAR CONTINUES TO SHOW A LARGE AREA OF MODERATE RAIN OVER
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY WITH THE HEAVIEST RAIN OVER SOUTHWEST PORTIONS OF THE
COUNTY SOUTH OF CLYMER...NEAR RIPLEY...AND OVER NORTHEAST PORTIONS OF
THE COUNTY NORTHEAST OF SINCLAIRVILLE. A SPOTTER REPORTED 2.3 INCHES OF
RAIN IN RIPLEY FROM NOON TIL 430 PM.

THIS AMOUNT OF RAIN IS ENOUGH TO CAUSE URBAN...POOR DRAINAGE AND SMALL
STREAM FLOODING.

THE STEADY RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING
HOURS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 INCHES OR MORE IN THREE HOURS IS ENOUGH TO
CAUSE POOR DRAINAGE AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN THIS AREA.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
