FLOOD WARNING FOR URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING EFFECTIVE UNTIL
400PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN WESTERN NEW YORK

   ...NORTHERN ERIE COUNTY
   ...SOUTHERN NIAGARA COUNTY

BUFFALO RADAR DETECTED A NARROW BAND OF LAKE EFFECT RAIN EXTENDING
NORTHEAST FROM CENTRAL LAKE ERIE ACROSS NORTH BUFFALO...TO BETWEEN
NIAGARA FALLS...NORTH TONAWANDA AND TO NEAR LOCKPORT.

THREE INCHES OF RAIN WAS REPORTED IN TONAWANDA OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS
WITH 2.70 INCHES FALLING SINCE 8PM LAST NIGHT. SOME STREET FLOODING
WAS ALSO REPORTED IN THIS AREA.

THE 10 MILE WIDE BAND OF LAKE EFFECT RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON MAINLY IN NORTH BUFFALO AND THE NORTHERN SUBURBS
BUT IT COULD BRIEFLY OSCILLATE A FEW MILES TO THE SOUTH OR NORTH DURING
THE AFTERNOON.

SOME THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE IN THIS BAND OF LAKE EFFECT RAIN.

THE HEAVY RAINFALL AND PERSISTENT MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS OVER THE
SAME AREA MAY RESULT IN FLOODING OF ROAD INTERSECTIONS AND LOW-LYING
AREAS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH FLOODED AREAS.
