FLOOD WARNING FOR URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN WESTERN NEW YORK

   ...CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY
 
AN AREA OF SLOW MOVING HEAVY RAIN SHOWERS THAT ARE BEING ENHANCED BY
LAKE ERIE HAS PRODUCED OVER TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL TODAY ACROSS
PORTIONS OF NORTHERN CHAUATUQUA COUNTY.  A WEATHER OBSERVER IN THE TOWN
OF WESTFIELD REPORTED 2.00 INCHES BETWEEN 11AM AND 3PM.

MORE RAINFALL IS EXPECTED ACROSS CHAUATUQUA COUNTY INTO THIS EVENING.
THE RAINFALL WILL PRODUCE LOCALIZED FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS AS WELL
AS URBAN AREAS WHERE STORM SEWERS CANT HANDLE THAT MUCH WATER...
ESPECIALLY OVER NORTHERN SECTIONS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
