THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO NY HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1005 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN WESTERN NEW YORK

   ...SOUTHWESTERN ALLEGANY COUNTY
   ...SOUTHEASTERN CATTARAUGUS COUNTY
 

AT 700PM WEATHER RADAR DETECTED THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHEAST
CATTARAUGUS AND SOUTHWEST ALLEGANY COUNTIES. RADAR ESTIMATES OF THREE
QUARTERS TO ONE INCH OF RAINFALL HAVE ALREADY OCCURRED AROUND THE TOWNS
OF OLEAN AND ALLEGANY.  

THE STORMS WERE MOVING VERY SLOWLY NORTHEAST AT 10 TO 15 MPH AND
ADDITIONAL STORMS CONTINUE TO DEVELOP OVER THE AREAS THAT HAVE ALREADY
HAD HEAVY RAIN.
 
THE HEAVY RAINFALL AND SLOW MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS MAY RESULT
IN FLOODING OF ROAD INTERSECTIONS AND LOW-LYING AREAS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY.
