THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO NY HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING
FOR URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 700 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN WESTERN NEW YORK

   ...CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY

DOPPLER RADAR FROM BUFFALO AT 400 AM EDT SHOWED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS
WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN CONTINUING OVER MUCH OF CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY.

THE STORMS EXTENDED WEST ACROSS THE EASTERN HALF OF LAKE ERIE...
TO NEAR LONDON ONTARIO.
MOVEMENT WAS TO THE EAST AT 40 MILES AND HOUR.

DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED THAT BETWEEN 1 AND 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS
FALLEN OVER THE SOUTHERN HALF OF CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SINCE MIDNIGHT.
BETWEEN ONE HALF AND 1 INCH OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER NORTHERN CHAUTAUQUA
COUNTY DURING THE SAME PERIOD.

ANOTHER 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE BETWEEN 4 AND 7 AM OVER THE
WARNED AREA...WHICH WILL LIKELY CAUSE FLOODING OF NUMEROUS LOW LYING
AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS...ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF A WESTFIELD TO
SINCLAIRVILLE LINE.

IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.
DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS
RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
