THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...S...
 
IN  NEW YORK
 
   ...ALLEGANY COUNTY...CATTARAUGUS COUNTY
 
VERY HEAVY RAINS FROM THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PRODUCED AN ESTIMATED INCH TO
AN INCH AND A HALF OF RAIN SINCE 8 PM. THE RAINS HAVE BEEN HEAVY ENOUGH
TO CAUSE POOR DRAINAGE FLOODING. THE HEAVIEST RAIN AS OF 930 PM WAS OVER
SOUTHERN CATTARAUGUS COUNTY MOVING EAST. SMALL STREAMS ARE EXPECTED TO
SPILL THEIR BANKS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHENJ IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
