000 TTAA00 KBGM 122214 FFWBGM PAC127-130100- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BINGHAMTON NY 614 PM EDT WED JUN 12 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BINGHAMTON NY HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...... IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA ...CENTRAL WAYNE COUNTY HEAVY RAINS FROM THUNDERSTORMS THAT MOVED ACROSS CENTRAL WAYNE COUNTY HAVE DROPPED TWO TO THREE AND A HALF /2.00 TO 3.50/ INCHES OF RAIN. THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE COUNTY HAVE WEAKENED CONSIDERABLY...AND WILL CONTINUE TO DRIFT NORTHWARD TOWARD EQUINUNK AND STOCKPORT THROUGH 700 PM. HOWEVER...MORE THUNDERSTORMS ARE DEVELOPING ACROSS THE WILKES BARRE - SCRANTON AREA AS OF 615 PM. THESE STORMS WILL MOVE INTO CENTRAL WAYNE COUNTY SHORTLY AFTER 700 PM...THEREFORE THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS EXTENDED UNTIL 900 PM. TWO STREAMS HAVE BEEN REPORTED OUT OF THEIR BANKS IN THE BETHANY AREA OFF ROUTE 670. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT.
