1118 AM MST SAT MAR 11 1995

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A 
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1200 AM MST FOR THE SANTA CLARA RIVER
AND ASSOCIATED TRIBUTARIES IN WASHINGTON COUNTY...

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT.

RESERVOIRS ON THE SANTA CLARA RIVER ARE FULL AND SPILLING AT THIS
TIME.  BAKER AND GUNLOCK RESERVOIRS ARE SPILLING AND AFFECTING
BRIDGES AND LOW LYING AREAS ALONG THE RIVER.  SOIL CONDITIONS ARE
SATURATED AND OVERLAND FLOW HAS BEEN REPORTED.

UPPER DRAINAGES OF THE SANTA CLARA AND VIRGIN RIVER BASINS HAVE
RECEIVED OVER 2 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE PAST 24 HOURS.  ANOTHER 1 TO
1.5 INCHES IS EXPECTED IN THE NEXT 12 HOURS.
IF YOU LIVE IN THE FLOOD PRONE AREAS ALONG THE SANTA CLARA RIVER AND
ASSOCIATED TRIBUTARIES...TAKE PRECAUTIONARY ACTIONS IMMEDIATELY. 

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGER OF FLOODING.  IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP
TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING
WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
