THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  500 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA
 
   ...LEWIS COUNTY
 
HEAVY RAINFALL DURING THE MORNING HAS CAUSED SMALL STREAMS IN LEWIS
COUNTY TO RISE RAPIDLY. SEVERAL SMALL STREAMS WERE REPORTED OUT OF THEIR
BANKS AT 1245 PM.
 
ALUM FORK AT ALUM BRIDGE WAS OUT OF ITS BANKS AND FLOODING WAS REPORTED
IN THE COMMINUNITY. JESSE RUN NEAR JANE LEW WAS OVERFLOWING.
MURPHY CREEK WAS OVERFLOWING ONTO LIMESTONE ROAD.
 
THE HEAVY RAINS HAVE MOVED EAST OF LEWIS COUNTY...BUT RUNOFF FROM THE
MORNING RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE SOME SMALL STREEM FLOODING FOR THE
NEXT SEVERAL HOURS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. WATCH OUT FOR MUD SLIDES.
