FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1045 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHEAST COLORADO
 
   ...NORTHERN BENT COUNTY...NORTHWESTERN PROWERS COUNTY
 
SLOW MOVING...HEAVY RAIN PRODUCING THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DELUGED NORTHWEST
PROWERS COUNTY. REPORTS OF FLOODING AROUND WILEY HAVE INDICATED ROAD 3
AND HIGHWAY 196 HAVE BEEN CLOSED DUE TO A BRIDGE GIVING WAY. FLOODING
WAS REPORTED OVER HIGHWAY 287 NORTH OF WILEY...AND THE NORTH END OF
WILEY WAS BEING EVACUATED AS A RESULT OF THE HEAVY RAIN IN THE AREA.
 
RADAR ESTIMATES OF RAINFALL IN THE WILEY AREA HAVE BEEN 1 1/2 TO 1 3/4
INCHES IN LESS THAN AN HOUR WITH 3 INCHES HAVING FALLEN IN 3 HOURS.
 
THOSE THUNDERSTORMS ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO MOVE IN AN AREA JUST NORTH
OF WILEY ABOUT 15 MILES AN HOUR TO THE NORTHEAST.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER MAY BE TOO DEEP TO ALLOW YOUR VEHICLE TO
CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY. GO TO HIGHER GROUND.
