SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  915 PM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN EAST CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA

   ...EASTERN CARTERET COUNTY

AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS


AT 830 PM DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
PRODUCING LARGE HAIL WAS IN EAST CENTRAL CARTERET COUNTY NEAR MERRIMON.
THIS STORM HAS HAD A HISTORY OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL. LARGE HAIL
TO GOLFBALL SIZE HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE TOWNS OF DAVIS AND
MARSHALLBERG. PERSONS IN DOWN EAST CARTERET COUNTY SHOULD TAKE COVER
IMMEDIATELY...INCLUDING THE TOWNS OF ATLANTIC...STACY...AND SEA LEVEL.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM.  IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND
DEADLY LIGHTNDING.  PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER...
PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING AND STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
