THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO AND SPECIAL MARNINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  415 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA
 
   ...COLLIER COUNTY
 
  AND FOR BOATERS ON THE COASTAL WATERS FROM
 
   ...BONITA BEACH  TO  EVERGLADES CITY
 
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING THROUGH NAPLES AT 310 AM WITH THE
STRONGEST PORTION OF THE THUNDERSTORM MOVING ACROSS MARCO ISLAND. RADAR
HAS INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO WITH THIS THUNDERSTORM JUST OFFSHORE OF
MARCO ISLAND. THE GREATEST THREAT FROM THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL
PERSIST OVER NAPLES AND MARCO ISLAND THROUGH 345 AM AND THEN EASTERN
COLLIER COUNTY WILL BE THREATEN AFTER 4 AM.
 
IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS UNDER
STURDY FURNITURE IN AN INTEvRIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. USE
PILLOWS TO PROTECT YOUR HEAD. AVOID WINDOWS. A MOBILE HOME IS NOT A
SAFE REFUGE FROM A TORNADO. MOVE TO A MORE SUBSTANTIAL BUILDING. DO
NOT TRY TO OUTRUN A TORNADO IN YOUR VECHICLE.
