THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  715 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...HILL COUNTY
 
THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR HILL COUNTY HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 715 AM
CDT. EXTREMELY HEAVY RAINS SINCE MIDNIGHT HAVE RESULTED IN EXTENSIVE
FLOODING IN HILL COUNTY...ESPECIALLY IN THE WHITNEY AREA.
 
THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTED NUMEROUS ROADS BETWEEN AQUILA AND
WHITNEY...INCLUDING HIGHWAY 933 AND FARM TO MARKET ROAD 1534...WERE
CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER. IN ADDITION...RESIDENTS WERE BEING EVACUATED
FROM APARTMENTS IN WHITNEY.
 
ALTHOUGH THE MOST INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS HAD MOVED EAST OF THE HILL
COUNTY AREA...MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE WITH ONE TO TWO
INCHES MORE RAIN POSSIBLE BY DAYBREAK.
