FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  645 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL CONNECTICUT
 
   ...NORTHEASTERN HARTFORD COUNTY...NORTHERN TOLLAND COUNTY
 
AT 430 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWS THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN
FROM EAST WINDSOR THROUGH ELLINGTON...TO STAFFORD. SEVERAL THUNDERSTORMS
HAVE MOVED OVER THIS AREA SINCE 3 PM. THESE STORMS COULD
PRODUCE 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN PER HOUR.

IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT

THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUNjD.
 
IT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS SHOULD
AVOID CAMPING ALONG STREAMS OR CREEKS DURING THREATENING RAINS.
