THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  730 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTH ALABAMA
 
   ...CULLMAN COUNTY...EASTERN WINSTON COUNTY
 
AT 640 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR CONTINUED TO SHOW THAT A
TORNADO IS LIKELY ASSOCIATED WITH A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER THE
MANCHESTER AREA. THE STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MILES AN HOUR AND
WILL MOVE ACROSS THE LEWIS SMITH LAKE AREA OF SOUTHEAST WINSTON AND
SOUTHERN CULLMAN COUNTY DURING THE NEXT 10 TO 15 MINUTES.
 
THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF FUNNEL CLOUDS WITH THIS STORM.  IN
ADDITION...THERE WAS ROOF DAMAGE TO A FIRE STATION IN THE CITY OF
TOWNLEY.
 
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION.  ACT QUICKLY.  IF YOU ARE
IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO MOVE TO A SHELTER BELOW GROUND IF
AVAILABLE.  OTHERWISE...GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST
FLOOR POSSIBLE.  AVOID WINDOWS.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES
FOR A REINFORCED BUILDING OR GET INTO A DITCH OR CULVERT.
