THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HOUSTON HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  345 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTHEAST TEXAS
 
   ...HOUSTON COUNTY
 
AT 1240 AM...RADAR INDICATED STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MOVING OVER
THE SAME AREAS OF HOUSTON COUNTY. RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER
HOUR AREA LIKELY AND WILL CAUSE QUICK RISES TO SMALL CREEKS AND LOW
WATER CROSSINGS.
 
THIS IS A DANGEROUS FLOOD SITUATION.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR
IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR
UNDERPASSES.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO
RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH
FLOODING IS O
BSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD
WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER
BEGINS RISING.
